How to evaluate wedding venues in Fresno, California

We believe that Copper River Country Club is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Valley! And, that we have the best team to help provide you the wedding of your dreams, from the catering staff, to our executive chef, to our day of wedding coordinator.

If you are a bride in Fresno or the surrounding area, and planning to have your wedding locally, here's how to objectively evaluate your options for wedding venues in Fresno, CA.

It might not be your main consideration, or you might have a generous budget to work with, but it's really not about the final cost. It's about the value you receive. When you're looking at wedding venues, find out what is included or not included in their wedding packages. For example, our wedding packages include linens, glassware, dishware, and silverware in addition to covering food, beverages, setup, service, bartenders, day of coordinator, and clean up.

Champagne and house wine are included in all three of our wedding meal packages. If you want to serve additional items or specialty items (for example, if you have a craft brew theme wedding) there will be a charge, but unlike many venues, we are flexible and open to unique ideas.

While the destination-wedding is a dream for many - Rome, Thailand, Hawaii - you might prefer to save that for your honeymoon and have a local wedding so that more of your friends and family can attend. You know how difficult it is to get everyone scheduled for a mid-week luncheon. Imagine getting dozens of people to coordinate travel, days off, and family schedules. You might end up missing some of the most important people in your lives.

Instead, look for a wedding venue that is local, easy to get to, yet feels like you've gone somewhere unfamiliar yet fascinating. Many clients have commented on our resort feel and that you feel you've gone somewhere far outside of Fresno. Most banquet halls are going to look almost exactly the same (until you put your special decorating stamp on it) from the inside. Look for a setting that will provide your guests with a beautiful setting such as our banquet rooms which have floor to ceiling windows looking out into the rolling hills or one of our ceremony sites with a vineyard backdrop.

You can have the most incredible location and delicious food, but if the planning or event staff is difficult to work with, or the wait staff is not providing great service, you're not going to have a wonderful wedding experience.

Talk to as many people as you can about the service and the team. Ask their banquet manager or event manager how they handle problems or what they've done at events in the past.

Feel free to ask these questions of Craig Ferreira, our Banquet Manager, as well as any questions you have about our wedding venues and services, at 559-434-8978.
